OUTLINE.

Hook; Some people think slums are helpful because you can survive there with only one dollars, but they have poor life styles.

What are slums? Slums are a squalid and overcrowded urban street or district inhabited by very poor people.

thesis; The existence of slums in large cities around the world can cause problems for human populations due to increased population, poor sanitation, and deadly disease.

Transition; In addition, slums inhabit a lot of people; sometimes six people live in only one room.li

II.
Topic sentence: Slums are usually located in areas in Africa; most of the slums are overcrowded.

Support; "Urbanization is the increase in area or population of a city or town, and the process by which a rural area becomes a large population center." (Source 1)

Explanation; Many people live in one, tiny room which makes their lives more crowded.

Transitional; However, slums not only are overcrowded, but they also have very poor sanitation habits.

III.
Topic sentence; Slums, which are usually inhabited by the very poor or socially disadvantaged are very unsanitized or dirty.

Support; "What she wants me to see is the key challenge of her life in Kiberia: basic sanitation." (Source 2)

Explanation; Poor sanitation and lack of water, offer people that are living in slums a harder life.

Transitional; Although, overcrowded-ness and poor sanitation are spiteful, there is also one more key component.

IV:
Topic sentence; Slums have a major issue with disease; which are easily contributed with young children.

Support; "The individual who tips the scales might be a baby born to a city dweller, or an adult migrating from the countryside, but in either case, it's likely that his or her new surroundings will include flimsy walls, disease and an enveloping stench of sewage and trash." (Source 4)

Explanation; Kids usually wander through slums, and they are a major hideout for diseases because their immune systems are weak.

Transitional; In conclusion, the threat of many disease are located in slums.

VI:
Conclusion; Slum-life is not a pleasure today, and living in slums can cause a negative effect towards anybodies health.

Restate thesis; Slums offer a negative effect towards human populations due to overcrowded-ness, poor sanitation, and deadly diseases.

Restate topic: Slums provide an area of over crowdedness, poor sanitation, and deadly diseases that threaten young children.

Sentence That Makes You Think; All in all, life in a slums can be very difficult to get used to. Everybody should be grateful for what they have today, and not complain because there are worse stuff out in the world
